The Texas Medical Association reelected Waco otolaryngologist Bradford W. Holland, MD, speaker of the House of Delegates policymaking body in May 2023. The speaker is an ex-officio member of the TMA Board of Trustees.
“It is truly an honor to serve as speaker of the house for the greatest state medical association in the country,” Dr. Holland said. “Representing my physician colleagues in this way is a charge I take seriously, and with great enthusiasm.” He first became speaker in 2021 and has been reelected twice since then.
Dr. Holland believes physicians should fight against forces that attack and seek to weaken the practice of medicine.
The physician has held multiple TMA leadership positions in his 26 years as a member, including vice speaker of the house; Council on Legislation member; and chair of TEXPAC, TMA’s political action committee. He is a graduate of the TMA Leadership Academy.
Dr. Holland is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, of which he served as president.
